ABOUT ME
Wild Flowers_edited_edited_edited.jpg

I am a naturally warm and empathetic person who people generate towards and feel able to share their concerns.  I offer face to face sessions in Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire or online sessions. Sessions are held during the day or in the evening.

AREAS OF COUNSELLING

  • Adults aged 18 and over

  • Trauma

  • Stress

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anything that  affects or overwhelms you

I am a  registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and alongside my counselling practice, I  volunteer with local agencies that offer counselling to trauma survivors.  I am currently working towards a Level 6 course in Trauma and continue to do short courses to enhance my ability and further my knowledge.

I have my own experience of anxiety, depression and trauma and know the effects that living with the weight of these can have on us. With the help of a counsellor I have been able to process these feelings and have built up personal resources that help me.

BACP Registration

People will often say that they don't need counselling, that it is not for them and that they'll just talk to a loved one. For some, that can work, however, our loved ones want to protect us, they want to rescue us, and they are unable to remain impartial. You want to protect them too, so you may not tell them everything.

As a counsellor, I am empathetic, non-judgemental and impartial. I can hear behind those words that you speak and help you explore what is going on for you, so that you can begin to heal, to ground yourself and regain your energy. I use a three phase trauma model which begins with safety and stabilisation, then moves on to processing the trauma and finally reconnection and integration.

Counselling, also known as Talking Therapy, can help us to overcome things that are overwhelming us and having an impact on us. Many of the things that overwhelm us are just the tip of the iceberg and, beneath that tip, there are many other emotions and feelings trying to be heard or felt.

I understand how hard it can be to reach out, but it is an act of self-care, allowing you to feel accepted and validated. Your feelings are valid and the struggles are real, and just because you feel that someone else has more going on for them, it doesn't make what is happening to you any less real or important. Your wellbeing is important, every single day.

There are many reasons why people decide to see a counsellor, life can be tough, it can be challenging and those challenges don't care that you have to function with everyday actions.

You may not understand why you are struggling, or what has happened to you, you just know that you are exhausted, sad, anxious and so on. The list goes on, it may not be something that has happened recently, it could have happened to you in the past that has been triggered by recent events.

If our minds don't remember, our bodies will, resulting in physical pain. Don't delay, you deserve to be the real you and not the you that everyone thinks you should be.
